These Aeyde Freya Ankle Boots from brand Aeyde, pronounced edee, is a size 42 inclusive Berlin based direct to consumer brand that came into my radar sometime last year.
[shopr collection=”aeyde-freya-boots”]I ordered during the Moda Operandi trunkshow. These boots feature a slanted block heel and sharp pointed tip, are made out of patent leather in a very pretty cornflower blue for the spring/summer 2019 collection. These boots I will continue to wear during the fall and winter since the pop of color, is so unexpected. The Aeyde freya ankle boots are amazing. Not only is there no breaking in period, they work with a bit thicker sock particurlary if they have to be worn in the colder months. At only 2.75 inches, the heels are quite low which make them comfortable enough to be in all day. There is a zipper in the back which makes it easy to pull on the boot. Also, additonal spare lifts are included which a cobbler may use for heel repairs. The only con is they can get a few dark scoffs after wear which isn’t such a big problem since it is so easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. Overall, I was happy with these and will purchase a different style from this brand in the future. If you have read my post on How to Find Size 11 shoes (here) I mention that Moda Operandi shoe edit is size 42 friendly and features brands that you may not find at any other retailer. Moda stands out among their counterparts because the carry emerging designers, indie shoe brands that haven’t become a household name yet. Also, they are the only retailer to offer a trunkshow model, where you pay a deposit, usually half the price of the item to order the product and the remaining balance after production, right before it is shipped out to you. I discovered the brand, Aeyde, on Moda so it’s always worth a look to check out the shoe inventory and to make an order during their trunkshows if you see a pair of shoes that catch your eye.
