Sports Luxe: Fur Jacket

Sports Luxe: Fur Jacket

Incorporating faux fur into an outfit is one of the ways a fashion girl can remain stylish during the colder months.  Fur is very retro glam and an item of clothing that oozes luxe, glamour and edge once you are able to get over its granny chic tendencies. A faux fur coat or gilet is an easy way to infuse fun into your personal style during the colder temperatures. I know that its not for everyone since it could appear bulky on the frame. That nothwithstanding, faux fur is a great statment piece that will make you standout.  The jacket I’m wearing in this post is not faux fur, if you are interested in acquiring a real fur coat, then a vintage or consignment store is probably the best bet for someone who is not looking to spend thousands of dollars on a real fur coat. I prefer fur of the multi colored and multi textured variety for the edge. But, if you are interested in purchasing a mink coat, make sure to buy one that was conditioned at a furrier, has pelts free from rips and tears with fur that has sheen to it and not dried out. Otherwise, there are plenty of faux fur selection currently in the stores all in differnt price ranges and textures. You don’t have to be necessarily dressed to the nines to wear a fur coat, it can be styled casually for a sports luxe feel. I accomplished that by pairing my jacket with New Balance trainers which coincidentally had details that matched my cable knit sweater. I enjoyed this look immensly, since it’s almost a rarity on the blog that I wear sneakers but it was casual enough to go out with the grab thai food with my friend after the rather frigid shoot.  Will you be trying the faux fur trend this winter?
