The New Neutral

The New Neutral

Neutral colors are having a bit of a fashion moment for Spring Summer 2019. Although, I enjoy clothing in printed style fabrics, there is something quite chic about wearing clothes in a very understated neutral color palette. Wearing neutral is far from boring. One instantly looks sophisticated, expensive and more put together, which is not very easy to achieve wearing clothes in prints.

I owned a beige utility jumpsuit that had made a couple of appearance on the blog here and here. Colors in the new neutral palette consists of beiges, greens, khakis, creams, white and browns think the colors that remind you of a uniform, utility, or even the military. I purchased my beige dress two summers ago because it reminded me of the colors that Kim K would wear. She was the one who put the the neutral chic style in the map a few seasons back.

My minimalist beige dress is possibly from the nineties, a body-con drop waist style that flares out on the bottom. One thing that’s beneficial for pulling off a body-con dress is the foundation garments. I vividly remember watching another fashionista talk about shape wear under clothes and how they make clothing look better on the body. However, I never really took the advise very seriously until I needed to wear one for this dress. It’s a wardrobe essential that is important regardless of size. It snatches your waist, then holds you in all the right places making your clothing look much better on. I am wearing one from Wolford but Spanx makes nice ones too. Since I had the right foundation garment on the overall effect for me was more confidence in my body-con beige dress.

How do you plan on incorporating the new neutral palette to your outfits this fall?
